Water Resources Department schedules two canal rotations, mandating volumetric metering for lift irrigation societies.
The Upper Wardha Project Irrigation Division (Morshi) has finalized the rotational water release schedule for the Right and Left Bank main canals supplying farmland across Amravati and Wardha districts.
Irrigation Scheduling Norms - Reservoir Live Storage: The dam currently holds 59.2% live capacity; 85 million cubic meters (MCM) are reserved strictly for Amravati municipal drinking water. - Canal Delivery Dates: First rotation begins 20 November 2026 for chickpea and rabi wheat pre-sowing; second rotation starts 10 January 2027. - Mandatory Flow Meters: Cooperative Lift Irrigation Societies (उपसा जलसिंचन संस्था) must install volumetric water meters to prevent water wastage and over-drawing.
