MEDA announces successful commissioning of 1,50,000 off-grid solar water pumping systems with up to 90% combined government subsidy.
The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA / महाऊर्जा), under the PM-KUSUM Component-B and Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, has surpassed the installation milestone of 1,50,000 off-grid solar agricultural pumps.
Farmer Benefits & Operational Metrics - 90% Subsidy Support: General category farmers pay only 10% beneficiary contribution, while SC/ST farmers contribute just 5% of the total system cost for 3 HP, 5 HP, or 7.5 HP submersible solar pumps. - Zero Electricity Bills: Off-grid solar pumps liberate farmers from monthly electricity tariff bills and reliance on load-shed rural transmission lines. - Remote Monitoring: Modern pumps are equipped with IoT-enabled Smart SIM controllers, enabling farmers to activate and monitor irrigation via their mobile phones.
