Rural women SHGs certified as licensed drone pilots deliver ultra-low-volume nano-urea sprays, saving 90% water compared to manual knapsack sprayers.

The implementation of the Namo Drone Didi Scheme across rural Maharashtra has reached an operational milestone, with certified women Self-Help Group (SHG) pilots delivering commercial aerial spraying services across 50,000 acres.

Precision Agriculture Benefits - Water Conservation: Traditional manual spraying consumes 150 to 200 liters of water per acre. Agricultural spray drones accomplish uniform droplet coverage using just 10 liters of water per acre, a vital advantage in drought-prone villages. - Cost Reduction: Farmers pay a subsidized rate of ₹350 per acre, avoiding hazardous chemical exposure and labor shortages in dense pigeonpea and cotton crops. - Nano-Urea Efficiency: Aerial foliar application of IFFCO Nano Urea enhances nitrogen absorption efficiency above 80%, compared to 30% for granular urea.
