Maharashtra WRD Announces Rabi Canal Water Rotation Schedule for Jayakwadi and Ujani Reservoirs

Canal Advisory Committees notify three water rotations for Rabi crops, restricting canal drawing for water-intensive commercial perennials.
The Water Resources Department (WRD), Maharashtra, has finalized the winter canal irrigation schedule (पाणी आवर्तन वेळापत्रक) for the command areas of the Jayakwadi (Paithan) and Ujani reservoirs.
Canal Rotation Timetable for Rabi Season 1. First Rotation: 15 November to 05 December (Crown Root Initiation & Chickpea Early Vegetative). 2. Second Rotation: 05 January to 25 January (Grain Filling & Pod Development). 3. Third Rotation: 15 February to 05 March (Final Maturation for late-sown cereals). - Water Regulatory Notice: Direct unauthorized pumping of water from primary canals using high-power diesel pumps is strictly prohibited and subject to confiscation by the irrigation patrolling squad.
