Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL / महावितरण) has accelerated the deployment of Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0), aiming to solarize 30% of rural agricultural feeders by late 2026.
Key Benefits for Farmers - Shift to Daytime Supply: Farmers will receive reliable, uninterrupted 8-hour daytime three-phase electricity for agricultural pump operation, ending hazardous night-time irrigation in snake-infested fields. - Land Lease Income: Farmers leasing barren or uncultivated land for decentralized 2 MW to 10 MW solar power plants receive up to ₹50,000 per acre per year with statutory 3% annual escalation. - Grid Stability: High-capacity solar integration minimizes distribution transformer burnouts across rural Vidarbha and Khandesh.
