State enhances financial subsidy to ₹75,000 for 500-micron UV-stabilized plastic film lining to prevent seepage in black cotton vertisols.
The Commissionerate of Agriculture, Maharashtra, has released updated operating guidelines for the Magel Tyala Shet-Tale Plastic Lining Scheme (मागेल त्याला शेततळे अस्तरीकरण) under the MahaDBT farmer portal.
Highlights of the Updated Scheme - Enhanced Subsidy Amount: Subsidy for lining farm ponds with 500-micron (BIS standard 15351:2015) multi-layered geomembrane film has been enhanced up to ₹75,000 per unit (or 50% of actual cost). - Target Topography: Priority allotment for farmers in drought-prone talukas of Vidarbha and Marathwada where black soils suffer heavy seepage loss. - Application Channel: Farmers with an excavated farm pond registered on MahaDBT can upload GPS coordinates and dealer quotations to secure pre-sanction.
