Maharashtra Horticulture Dept Releases Subsidized Community Farm Pond Guidelines for Farmer Groups

Horticulture mission offers capital grants up to ₹15 Lakh for group farm ponds (सामूहिक शेततळे) built by clusters of 5 to 10 small farmers.
The Directorate of Horticulture, Government of Maharashtra, has published revised operational guidelines for Community Farm Ponds (सामूहिक शेततळे) under the National Horticulture Mission and PoCRA.
Scheme Parameters for Farmer Clusters - Capacity & Grant: Groups of 5 or more contiguous small farmers can construct high-capacity community reservoirs (up to 5 crore liters), receiving 100% government assistance up to ₹15 Lakhs for excavation, inlet-outlet structures, and 500-micron plastic lining. - Shared Micro-Irrigation: The community pond must connect to shared drip irrigation lines irrigating high-value fruit crops (citrus, pomegranate, guava). - Application Portal: Farmer groups register through their registered FPO or village SHG on the MahaDBT portal.
