The Quality Control Division of the Maharashtra Agriculture Department has intensified market inspections across fertilizer and pesticide retail outlets, seizing batches of unlicensed bio-stimulants and bogus micronutrient mixtures.
Guidelines for Farmers Before Purchasing 1. Mandatory FCO Certification: Ensure every fertilizer bag carries a valid Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) license number and batch manufacturing date. 2. Digital GST Receipt: Never purchase agricultural inputs without an official printed computerized GST bill mentioning the batch number and dealer stamp. 3. Complaint Redressal: Report suspicious or unlabelled chemical mixtures to the local Taluka Krishi Adhikari or call the state agricultural quality control toll-free grievance cell.
