The Central Water Commission (CWC) has released its weekly live reservoir status bulletin for peninsular river basins, noting that major irrigation reservoirs in Maharashtra stand at an aggregate 64% of live storage capacity.

Irrigation Advisory for Rabi Planning The Maharashtra Water Resources Department (WRD) has cautioned farmers in the Purna and Wardha river basins against cultivating high-water-consumption crops like sugarcane or summer paddy. Farmers are advised to plan for low-water pulse crops (chickpea / harbhara) and oilseeds (safflower).
